English band Saxon are finalizing a new album of covers titled Inspirations , confirms vocalist Biff Byford .
In a video posted last Thursday, the 17th, the artist says, “I want to tell you about a project we’re really excited about. We’re finishing it now, I’m finishing the vocals now. It’s going to be a covers album!”
“Someone had the idea to do something a little fun, considering that our new Saxon album has been delayed until next year,” he explains. “So, yeah, we’re going to call it Inspirations , and it’s a collection of songs that inspired and influenced us to follow the road of rock and roll, seeking fame and fortune. So, yeah, there are some great songs on it, there are some surprises, some songs that are quite difficult to play and sing. But we enjoy doing it.”
“I just finished the vocals tonight. We did it the old-school way, old Marshall amps, real drums in a giant hallway in a big house we used near York. So there’s going to be a video about it soon. Hopefully you’ll be able to pre-order the album before it’s released. And we’re going to drop a single soon, so keep an eye on social media for that,” Biff warned.
